Although my culinary skills were adequate enough I wanted to push the boundaries a bit. As I am not one for sticking to recipes Jamie Oliver’s ‘chuck it in the pan’ style really appealed to me. I am no baker, I can not be doing with all the measuring and weighing.
I definitely need more of a slap-dash approach.
So I treated myself to my first Jamie Oliver cookbook and a good few years on I have nearly every book he’s written and gave most of the recipes a go.
What a good move – not only do I understand cookery now but know what flavours go with what, it’s now second nature.
