You know when you have an image in your mind of how you want something to look, well – this is exactly what I had in my mind’s eye when making my Hanging Candle Holder.
I am really quite pleased with myself as I have managed to keep the integrity of the bark encasing the wood whilst making it a practical item to use.
The remit I had made myself for this project was to bring a little of the outside inside to hang on your wall.
These can be used in different ways. You may add a pillar candle as I have here or a small plant such as a succulent. Or think outside the box maybe add a small vase with a statement flower such as a gerbera.
We have a local traditional sawmill approximately two miles from where I live. It is an amazing place, the smell of all the wood is beautiful. Generally, this piece is discarded by the sawmill when cutting the trunk into planks but to me it the best bit.
